Who will win the battle ? Mahayuti- Or Mah Viikas Aghadi
As on May 20th, 2024, the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections will occur in 13 constituency of Maharashtra, encompassing Mumbai and its surrounding areas.
In the 13 constituencies, Central Minister Piyush Goyal,
actor-politician Bhushan Patil, and Public Prosecutor Ujwal Nikam are competing
in the elections."
The question is how much contribution Maharashtra will make to BJP's
election campaign slogan 'ab ki baar 400 paar'. Out of the 48 seats, how many
seats will be contributed by the BJP alliance (Mahayuti) this time is
noteworthy.
This time in Maharashtra, there is a direct contest between Mahayuti and
Maha Vikas Aghadi. Who will emerge victorious at this event?
In 2019, Shiv Sena was in alliance with the BJP. Now, it has split into
two groups: Shiv Sena - Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray Group and Shiv Sena - Eknath
Shinde Group.
Wherever Shiv Sena (Dhanusha Baan) and Shiv Sena (Mashal) are pitted
against each other, the division of votes among Shiv Sainiks will be
noteworthy.
15 out of 13 seats have battle between Shiv sena (UBT) Vs Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde). It is not going to easy for both as votes might be divided in two major issues, like ideology of Bala Saheb Vs Sympathy towards Mr. Uddhav Thackrey. Especially seats of Mumbai — Kalyan, Thane and Nashik, which would go to polls in the fifth and last phase of the polls in the state on May 20th.
Thane and Kalyan were particularly sought after by the BJP, but Devendra
Fadnavis himself announced Shrikant Shinde's name for the Kalyan constituency.
This made some BJP workers unhappy. This dissatisfaction may work against Shiv
Sena (Shinde faction) and potentially boost support for Shiv Sena (UBT) due to
sympathy.
In south Mumbai, Yamani Jadhav is
candidate of Shinde Sena against the sitting MP Arvind Sawant (UBT)- Yamini
Jadhav is the wife of Yashwant Jadhav, against whom the ED has initiated action
for corruption in the BMC standing committee. It
is a challenging road to Delhi for Yamini Jadhav, as voters might consider
Arvind Sawant again this time due to her relationship with the accused in the
corruption scandal in the standing committee.
From Mumbai South West, Ravindra
Waikar, who recently switched from UBT to the Shinde Group, is also facing
scrutiny from central agencies. Amol Kirtikar (UBT) was a candidate against
him. The ED has been closely monitoring him regarding a money laundering case
related to the construction of a hotel, rather than a violation of his
agreement with the BMC.
In this election, the Maha Vikas Aghadi is campaigning to save the Constitution, while the BJP alliance is campaigning on its achievements of the last 10 years, such as Article 370, the Ram Mandir, and India's GDP growth.
The Mahayuti has also have unconditional support from MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) this time. Mr. Raj Thackeray shared the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time ever at Shivaji Park yesterday, and put 6 demands in front of them about Maharashtra in his speech. Whereas, Maha-Vikas-Aghadi held a rally at BKC, attended by leaders from the India Aghadi. Mr. Kejriwal and Mr. Sharad Pawar delivered speeches during the rally.
Today marks the last day of the campaign, with the election scheduled for May 20th. It will be intriguing to see who will secure the majority in Maharashtra on June 4th.
Do voters weigh in on concerns of the day, their candidate's performance during the previous five years, and whether the candidate is deserving of the position of Member of Parliament?
Voters must be aware of their candidate's personality and abilities so that the candidate can effectively represent the issues facing their constituencies in government.
